Sony and JVC decided to push further into the 3D market this week, as both company's unveiled professional 3D camcorders at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas.

Panasonic revealed five new compact camcorders today at an event in London, England: the pistol-grip HX-DC10, HX-DC1, and HX-WA10, and the ultracompact HM-TA20 and HM-TA2. Both the TA20 and WA10 models feature waterproof designs.

Sony has finally released a software update for its Bloggie Touch camcorders that enables Macintosh compatibility with the camcorders' built-in software. Updates are available for all of Sony's Bloggie Touch models, which include the MHS-TS10, MHS-TS20, and the MHS-TS20K.

Sony's new HDR-PJ series of HD camcorders have something unique—built-in video projectors. The three "projector" camcorders, which include models HDR-PJ50V, HDR-PJ30V, and HDR-PJ10, have projectors built into the back of their 3-inch LCD.

Samsung unveiled two new ultracompact camcorders for 2011 at CES today: the HMX-P300 and the HMX-P100. Samsung describes these new camcorders as follow-up models to the company's HMX-E10 ultracompact camcorder that was released last year.

At CES 2011 in Las Vegas, Samsung has announced a new series of mid-range HD camcorders called the HMX-H300 line. The series contains four camcorders—the HMX-H300, HMX-H303, HMX-H304, and HMX-H305—each of which has a sub-$600 suggested retail price.

Samsung announced three new standard definition camcorders today at CES: the SMX-F50, SMX-F53, and SMX-F54. Each camcorder supports a 52x optical zoom lens (increased up to 65x with Intelli-Zoom), a 1.6-inch CCD sensor, and 720 x 480 SD recording.

JVC introduced a whole set of new mid-range and entry-level HD camcorders at CES this year. All of these new Everio camcorders feature whopping 40x optical zoom lenses, SDXC memory card compatibility, and standard definition recording options in addition to HD modes.
